Immediate recovery checklist for a compromised email or platform account.

  • Use a clean device you trust; do not reuse the infected one.
  • Change the password and sign out of all active sessions.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication immediately.
  • Check recovery email, phone number and forwarding rules for changes.
  • Warn contacts that messages sent from the account may be fake.

Online Financial Scam

  • Stop sending money — no legitimate recovery ever needs another payment.
  • Save the transaction ID, mobile-wallet number and full chat thread.
  • Notify your bank or mobile financial service provider the same day.
  • Report to CIRT and file a general diary at your local police station.

Support routes for parents, guardians and schools when a minor is targeted.

  • Keep the child away from further contact with the offender.
  • Preserve messages; do not confront the offender online.
