Quick awareness quiz

A recruiter offers a freelance job but asks for a 2,000 BDT 'registration fee'. What is the correct action?

Stop. A genuine employer never charges the worker. Preserve the chat and report it to the Scam & Fraud Intelligence Centre.

Someone sends a link to 'verify your Facebook account' and the page asks for your password.

It is a phishing page. Do not enter anything, change your password on the real site, and run the link through the Phishing Detection Centre.

A stranger threatens to publish your private photos unless you pay.

Do not pay and do not delete anything. Preserve the chat and file a P1 case with the Women Cyber Safety Cell or the Photo & Video Misuse Cell.

A viral post claims NFF is charging for ID cards.

Check the official notice board and submit the post to the Misinformation & Fact-Check Centre before forwarding it to anyone.
