What to understand
- •You have the right to speak, to privacy and to seek remedy when you are harmed.
- •You are responsible for what you forward — sharing a rumour spreads the harm.
- •Reporting falsely or maliciously against an innocent person is itself misconduct.
What you can lawfully do
- •Verify before you share; a five-second check prevents most rumour damage.
- •Respect consent when posting other people's photos, especially children's.
